If you are bringing guests out to Rose of Sharon tomorrow night, please note that send-off starts at 7:00 PM (that's when we start calling the names).  You should plan on arriving at or before 6:30 PM to have time to check in, get belongings situated, and get back down to the send-off area.  It takes 45 minutes to an hour to get there from the Bartlett area so plan your departure time accordingly.  There will be very light snacks only so make sure your guest has had something to eat before arriving.

See attached map.  Note that it is not to scale but see detailed instructions below.

1. From start point go to Hwy 385W and head to Millington.

2. Hwy 385 intersects with Hwy 51 just south of Millington. Go 51 north (right), through Millington to Munford.  Garmin might tell you to turn on Hwy 178, but do not turn. Go to 2nd red light.  

3. At 2nd red light in Munford, turn left (Hwy 206N) on Munford Ave. (Exxon station on right.)

4. Follow Munford Ave. into town about (? mile and watch carefully) until you get to Beaver Road, turn right. You will see Corner Tobacco on right and BP gas station on left. (If you go into downtown Munford and come to a Hwy 178 sign, you have gone too far.)

5. Follow Beaver Road to a stop sign. You will drive into the country 4.0 miles until you get to a stop sign. The intersection will be a 3-way stop with one road diagonally from your right. Crossroad Baptist Church will be on your left at the intersection. You will see a sign for Rose of Sharon, 0.6 miles. 

6. Turn left (west) at the stop sign on to Holly Grove Road and you go a few hundred yards until you see a small church on right.

7. Turn right at the church on to Candy Lane and proceed about .5 mile to Rose Lane at Rose of Sharon Campground, on your left.

Tuesday. I received a phone call from the Doctor about 3 minutes ago. They told 
 me everything is OK. I do not have cancer. I do have a Lymphoma that they 
will  be taking out on April 20th, but hey that's ok.

With so many people connecting via Facebook and posting on a daily basis it is easy to forget the impact that one simple post can have on a large group of people. ? ? A seemingly innocent picture posted from a Banquet or Awakening event can easily become misconstrued and cast a negative shadow across the entire Banquet or Awakening community. ? Someone not familiar with the events that take place during the weekend can easily form the wrong opinion because they do not know the context in which the picture was taken. ? That puts us in the position of having to defend ourselves and the activities that take place. ? We also run the risk of offending the individuals depicted within the pictures if they were not aware they would be posted online when the picture was taken. 

We are asking that you please use good judgment when posting pictures from Banquet or Awakening events. ? If the picture could be misconstrued without a detailed explanation or depicts something that most people wouldn?t associate with a Christian retreat, then we would ask that you please refrain from posting it. ? Even if you post it with a detailed explanation you still run the risk of someone not reading it or still not understanding the context in which it was taken. ? We also ask that the individuals within the picture approve of the posting online. 

It is not our intent to be the "picture police".? We just want to be sure that we are always portraying a postitive picture of the Banquet and Awakening weekends.?

Dear GB/Awakening Community & especially the ladies of GB #51 Team,

I want to thank each of you for agreeing with me in prayer for my grandfather and his battle with cancer.  Just to give you a quick background, he was diagnosed with colon cancer a couple of years ago.  The doctors had to do a complete removal of his colon and he endured chemo/radiation/etc.  He was in remission for a short time but his levels never really returned to normal.  His cancer indicators remained elevated and eventually, the cancer showed up.  The colon cancer had metastasized to his liver.  He had three tumors...two small and one large.  The doctors determined surgery and radiation in addition to more chemo would be necessary.  However, when they opened him up, they found he had cirrhosis of the liver that had never been diagnosed caused by Hepatitis C he had contracted many years earlier.  Too much of his liver was dead, so they had to leave the largest tumor in his liver.  His liver and body would not be able to recover from the shock of removing over half of his liver when so much was already dead from the cirrhosis.  We were all told that they would use other treatments in an attempt to shrink the tumor and prolong his life but no guarantees were made.  He went to visit some friends and family he hadn't seen in a while and prepared to not make it through next Christmas.

Well, I have been praying (along with many others) for his comfort as he goes through treatments and that there would be more good days than bad days.  I want to thank each of you who chose to go above and beyond my request for comfort and asked for complete healing instead.  About 2 weeks ago, God reminded me that He is still the Ultimate Physician and that He can still heal the physical body if He so desires despite what the doctors said.  So, in response to God's chastising of my faith and trust in Him, I started praying for healing for my grandfather.  Unknown to me, my Mom was also face-to-face with the same crisis of belief and began praying for his healing as well instead of just peace and comfort.  Well, Friday morning, my grandfather had a follow-up PET scan.  Monday afternoon, my mom sent me the news that the scan showed NO VISIBLE SIGNS OF CANCER & THE TUMOR THEY LEFT AFTER THE SURGERY WAS COMPLETELY GONE!!!!!!!!!  They will continue his remaining chemo treatments in order to eradicate any microscopic cancer cells that may be present in his body, but I know there is nothing left.  God has answered our prayers according to His will and His purpose and in order to show His full glory!!!  He is still the Ultimate Physician and He is still the God of Miracles!!!  He is our Jehovah Raphe - the God who HEALS!

I thank you all again for trusting Him to heal my grandfather and appreciate your continued prayers as he shares his story with others who need to see God's glory in the midst of their own sufferings and pain.

Candlelight Services

  Men's Discipleship Walk will be held at Rose of Sharon Campgrounds tonight at 8:00 PM following our 4th day meeting. Anyone able to attend and support the Discipleship Walk and our own Robert Daugherty who is serving on that team would be much appreciated.

Subject: [Prayer] Mike Karel's Surgery

Dear friends, just want to let you know, I had surgery about 3 hours ago.  
Praise the Lord the lump was mostly at the surface. They said it was about 
the  size of an egg. But it is gone. I feel good. They told me I would be in 
a lot of  pain but I was able to go home put a shirt on and tie my shoes. I 
know that  sounds stupid but when I had my shoulder implant put in in 
November it was a  week or two before I could dot that...
 
 
Thank you to all that have kept me in your prayers. I am blessed to have a  
great Christian family of friends. Now that this is over lets get started 
on  getting more people than ever for the next Great Banquet. Let's rock the 
house  in September for the men and October for the women. The Lord has 
blessed us lets  give back. The grass whithers and the flowers fade but the word 
of the Lord  lasts forever.

My Brother Kenny Fowler's 6 month old grandson is being air lifted to Vanderbilt Hospital with in the hour. The doctor says he has a mass on his brain that looks like cancer and is in a very dangerous place. Please lift the baby, my brother, his family and our entire family up in prayer. We have been told that the baby will go into surgery as soon as he arrives at the hospital today. His name is Peyton Fowler.

Please continue in prayer for my Brother Kenny's 6 month old grandson, Peyton Fowler. The doctors have spent the night doing cat scans and MRI's the tumor is a little larger that a half dollar. They are treating him with meds to reduce swelling in his brain to prepare for surgery today. They continue to tell the family they believe it to be cancer and very dangerous. Ask God's healing for the baby, guidance for the doctors and the peace that passes all understanding for the family.

Steve and Janet James son Andrew and his wife had their baby premature by 2
month.  He was born weighing about 4 lbs.  Mother is doing fine, but the
baby will have to stay in the hospital several weeks.  Please pray for them

Thank you all for your prayers for my 6 month old great nephew Peyton Fowler the newest little member of our family. We can only say what happen with Peyton was a miracle from God. The doctors said had they gotten Peyton to the hospital one day later he would not have survived. The tumor  attached to the brain was growing down on his spine but thankfully when the surgeons detached the tumor from his brain they found that it had not attached itself to his spine as they had feared. It was cancer. He will begin chemo treatments as soon as his incisions begin to heal.He will remain in the hospital for several more days. I alone with my entire family cannot thank you enough for your prayers. We know it is only by the grace of God that Peyton is here. Thanks again and please keep him in your prayers.
